Section Policies
Presentation. This is related to the introduction to the topics of the manuscripts that will be published in the corresponding issue. It supports the information contained in the publication to bring the reader closer to, and, to the extent possible, connect with, the topics found in the issue on scientific disciplines, through the dissemination and debate of the various topics addressed in ALFA.
Research. Under this heading, papers must meet criteria such as a relevant research design, theoretical and methodological consistency, rigor in the handling of information and methods, the veracity of the findings or results, results discussion, conclusions, limitations of the study, and, where appropriate, foresight. Texts should be a minimum of 15 pages and a maximum of 25, including graphs, notes, and references. Pages must be numbered and double-spaced.
Review articles. A review article is a detailed, selective, and critical study that integrates essential information into a unified, comprehensive perspective. It is a type of scientific article that, while not original, compiles the most relevant information on a specific topic. Its purpose is to examine the published literature and place it in perspective. It should describe the methodology used to analyze or systematize the information, inclusion and exclusion criteria, among other things. This article should not exceed 6,000 words, including graphs, notes, and references. Pages should be numbered and double-spaced.
Educational interventions. These must have a theoretical and methodological basis aimed at demonstrating innovations within the scientific field. These works must be a minimum of 15 pages and a maximum of 25, including graphs, notes, and references. Pages must be numbered and double-spaced.
Book reviews. These reviews should critically examine the ideas, arguments, and themes of specialized books. Their length should not exceed 3,000 words, calculated using the Word counter, including graphics, notes, and references. Pages should be numbered, with one and a half line spacing.
Journal reviews. National or international journals with topics of interest to the scientific community should be reviewed. They should be structured with: title, abstract in English and Spanish, description of the subject area, article type and frequency, publisher, institution, country, and location. Maximum two pages.
Theses and dissertations reviews. References will be made to works by university researchers. They should be structured with: Title, author(s), abstract of the research paper in Spanish and English (abstract) with keywords, type of thesis (Doctoral, Master's), advisor, department, university, and approval date. Maximum of two pages.
Websites, blogs, and other electronic documents review. References to works or references to works published online that are of interest to the academic and research field should be included. They should be structured as follows: title, author(s) of the review, brief information on the content, specification of the email address (es), and the contributions that justify the reference. Maximum 4 pages.
Events. Minutes of the professionals and researchers attending national or international events that will disseminate or participate in presentations, conferences, forums, symposia, and other activities that have been presented or are to be presented at an event. The file should be structured as follows: objectives, results, conclusions, and proposals generated at the event. Identifying information should include: event name, location, date, and objectives. This section also includes the promotion and dissemination of national and international conferences, congresses, meetings, and workshops of interest to readers. Maximum three pages.
