Context: In Amazonian rural territories, community-based tourism operates as a form of diversification of sustainable production systems, articulated with rural livelihoods, territorial management, and the conservation of agrobiodiversity. Objective: The study aimed to determine the predictive relationship between attitudes toward sustainable tourism and self-reported adherence to biodiversity conservation behaviors among residents of the San Pablo-Gocta Waterfall Communal Private Conservation Area, Amazonas, Peru. Materials and Methods: A quantitative study using an associative strategy and a cross-sectional predictive design was conducted with a probability sample of 205 residents of Cocachimba and San Pablo. Adapted versions of the Sustainable Tourism Attitude Scale and the Pro-Nature Conservation Behaviour Scale were administered. Results: The results showed a positive predictive relationship between attitudes toward sustainable tourism and self-reported adherence to biodiversity conservation behaviors (B = 0.315; β = 0.561; R² = 0.315). The model accounted for 31.5% of the observed variability in self-reported conservation behaviors. The inference regarding this association remained stable when HC3 robust standard errors and pairs bootstrap were applied, with confidence intervals excluding zero. Conclusion: It is concluded that more favorable attitudes toward sustainable tourism are associated with greater self-reported adherence to biodiversity conservation behaviors. In substantive terms, residents who view sustainable tourism more favorably tend to express greater agreement with actions aimed at protecting nature and biodiversity. The study provides evidence that the social valuation of sustainable tourism is consistently related to self-reported adherence to conservation behaviors in a communal private conservation area in the Peruvian Amazon.
