El cultivo de palto constituye un recurso estratégico para la economía andina, pero enfrenta crecientes desafíos fitosanitarios. La interacción de plagas, patógenos y condiciones edáficas desfavorables compromete su sostenibilidad, demandando enfoques integrales que permitan comprender y mitigar los factores de deterioro productivo. El objetivo del estudio fue evalar la relación entre condiciones fitosanitarias desfavorables y el daño observado en palto variedad Fuerte en Pachachaca. Se identificaron agentes bióticos asociados y se caracterizaron parámetros abióticos de suelo y agua, con el propósito de fundamentar estrategias de manejo integrado. La investigación se desarrolló en el Centro Experimental Pachachaca durante la campaña 2023-2024. Se aplicó un diseño descriptivo y experimental, incluyendo diagnóstico fitosanitario, aislamiento de hongos, identificación de plagas, y análisis fisicoquímico de suelo y agua, bajo protocolos estandarizados de bioseguridad y buenas prácticas agrícolas. Se identificó Lasiodiplodia theobromae como patógeno dominante en tejidos sintomáticos, confirmando su papel oportunista en condiciones de estrés. Se registró una alta diversidad de plagas, destacando hormigas cortadoras y caracoles con incidencias superiores al 80%. Los suelos alcalinos y pobres en materia orgánica predispusieron al cultivo, intensificando daños fisiológicos y estructurales. El deterioro fitosanitario del palto responde a una sinergia negativa entre factores abióticos y bióticos. La gestión sostenible requiere estrategias integradas que fortalezcan resiliencia edáfica, reduzcan presión de plagas y mejoren productividad.
Avocado cultivation is a strategic resource for the Andean economy but faces growing phytosanitary challenges. The interaction of pests, pathogens, and unfavorable edaphic conditions compromises its sustainability, demanding comprehensive approaches to understand and mitigate factors contributing to productive decline. The study aimed to evaluate the relationship between unfavorable phytosanitary conditions and observed damage in the Fuerte avocado variety in Pachachaca. Associated biotic agents were identified, and abiotic soil and water parameters were characterized to establish a basis for integrated management strategies. The research was conducted at the Pachachaca Experimental Center during the 2023–2024 season. A descriptive and experimental design was applied, including phytosanitary diagnosis, fungal isolation, pest identification, and physicochemical analysis of soil and water, following standardized biosecurity and good agricultural practices protocols. Lasiodiplodia theobromae was identified as the dominant pathogen in symptomatic tissues, confirming its opportunistic role under stress conditions. A high diversity of pests was recorded, with leaf-cutting ants and snails showing incidences exceeding 80%. Alkaline soils poor in organic matter predisposed the crop, intensifying physiological and structural damage. The phytosanitary decline of avocado results from a negative synergy between abiotic and biotic factors. Sustainable management requires integrated strategies that enhance soil resilience, reduce pest pressure, and improve productivity.
